Accreditation and Listing

St. Nicholas University: School of Veterinary Medicine is chartered by the Ministry of Blue and Green Economy, Agriculture and National Food Security, as well as, the Ministry of Education in the Commonwealth of Dominica. The college is recognized by the government of Dominica and our graduates are eligible to practice veterinary medicine within that country without restriction.

Students from North America and the Caribbean

St. Nicholas University is listed by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), which in turn allows our graduates to register with the Educational Committee of Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG). ECFVG certification allows our graduates to be licensed in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and other countries accepting ECFVG certification.
St. Nicholas University: School of Veterinary Medicine graduates are eligible to practice veterinary medicine in the United States and Canada without restrictions once they pass the requisite licensing examinations.

Students of French Nationality and other Member State of the European Union

Les personnes de nationalité française ou ressortissantes d’un autre Etat membre de l’Union Européenne, d’un Etat partie à l’accord sur l’Espace Economique Européen ou de la Suisse, titulaires d’un diplôme, certificat ou titre de vétérinaire non mentionné aux articles L 241-2 à L 241-5 du code rural et de la pêche maritime et qui souhaitent exercer la médecine et la chirurgie des animaux en France, doivent demander une autorisation auprès du Ministère de l’agriculture et de l’alimentation.

 

Préalablement, elles doivent satisfaire à la vérification d’ensemble de leurs connaissances lors d’un examen dont les modalités sont définies dans l’arrêté du 18 janvier 2021 relatif à l’organisation du contrôle des connaissances pour les vétérinaires dont le diplôme ne bénéficie pas d’une reconnaissance automatique en France. La composition du jury est fixée chaque année, par arrêté ministériel. Le jury comprend des enseignants-chercheurs des quatre Ecoles Nationales Vétérinaires, des représentants du Ministère chargé de l’agriculture (DGAL, CGAAER, Direction Départementale chargée de la Protection des Populations) et de l’Ordre vétérinaire.

St. Nicholas University School of Veterinary Medicine is recognized and listed by the World Veterinary Association (www.worldvet.org) under universities, institutions, colleges and schools awarding Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in the world.
